Its base turbocharged 3.6 liter V6 engine delivers 280 horsepower, which reviewers feel is adequate for a vehicle of this curb weight. The hybrid model generates an impressive 375 horsepower, while the diesel model generates just 225 horsepower.
Critics are also pleased with the Volkswagen Touareg’s interior, which U.S. News says is an improvement over previous Touareg models. Both Road and Track and Motor Trend assert that the new Touareg interior gives Audi a run for its money.
The Touareg does not offer third-row seating, but Auto Week and Motor Trend both applaud the SUV’s spacious and versatile rear seat, which slides forward and back and reclines as well.
